I design and make eco-friendly recycled silver jewellery inspired by the Cornish coast.
I originally trained as a shoe maker almost 30 years ago and then went on to have my own very successful leather accessories business called Wolfwhistle, supplying Harvey Nichols and Topshop. I was also working as a music photographer in London, photographing well known bands such as Deep Purple, Heavens Basement and Bad Company to name a few.
It was when I had my daughter Poppy in 2010 that my life took a totally new direction and I relocated to Cornwall, settling on the beautiful rugged coast of the Lizard. I fell in love with the sea, and being close to it kept me sane during the first few years of parenthood. I began photographing the landscape on my daily walks and soon started selling prints and calendars.
I enrolled on a 10 week silversmithing course in Falmouth in 2013 just for fun really and found I really enjoyed working with metal, in particular drawing on my landscape photography as inspiration.
I designed the first seascape ring while I was on the course and it's only recently that I've felt able to return to silversmithing as a new career direction.
I'm now living In Penzance and work from my home studio making the seascape rings, which have become a bit of a signature design. I am happy to work with clients to make one off unique pieces and have ready to wear jewellery for sale on my etsy shop, .www.etsy.com/uk/shop/SeascapeRings.
